Well I am back in wonderful Guam. The house is still standing and there are no major problems. Some plants I planted have actually grown, and we have some nice flowers, but of course they are surrounded by a bunch of weeds.
No major ant problems either, but there are a few little spiders roaming around, but I quickly dispatched them with the vacuum cleaner.
I am unpacking and will post some new pictures later today.

T-Minus 14 Working Days...
And counting.
Its funny. I have only been here for about four weeks and some change, others have been here 16 or more weeks. Yet all of us keep coming up with new and creative ways to countdown to when we leave here.
We have 14 "working" days, 20 actual days, some are even discounting days based on what the training is.
I am now officially DONE with chicken. And all forms of cut/roast/chipped and other types of sliced beef. Basically the chow hall has to feed upwards of a thousand people a day. So on monday, they have sliced beef. On Tuesday, its italian beef (same beef as monday but with italian dressing on it), Italian beef (yup just add tomato sauce) well you get the idea. The beef gets tougher with every minute.
Christine is keeping busy. She got all our wedding invitations cut and is running around like a madwoman on a spending spree to get things all set up for our new home.
Things are shaping up and we are both looking forward to having all this stuff be complete and starting our new life again, but this time together.

Two weeks down
Well thats two weeks down in GA. I am thoroughly and completely done with cafeteria style food and chicken.
Thats about it, just a quick update to let you all know this is still going, just a little slow because of the internet here.

The Joy of Tech
Welcome to beautiful Georgia. No Wifi, no high speed, no nada. The posting might be a bit sparse for the next few weeks. I am on a dial up connection and therefore living in the stone age.
Speaking of stone, I went from my nice 3 br, 2 ba house to a 10x10 cell with a shared bathroom. How'd that happen?
I didn't think I'd say this so quickly but I miss Guam.

Great Googly Moogly
Imagine you had a lawn. Then imagine this lawn is on the surface of the sun. Then imagine you had to mow it. Thats what I did today. Good golly it was hot. Thats it, just wanted to let everyone know that I cut the grass today and it only took about three hours on the surface of the sun.

Praying Mantis
Yesterday, I go outside to see how my bug zapper is doing. I look down and see this Praying Mantis. Its facing away from me, but as soon as I see it, it turns its head, and looks right at me. I move, his head follows me. His arms rubbing each other, as if he is deciding how to attack me. I slowly return to the house, and take the picture through the window, thats why its kinda blurry. About an hour we had some of the loudest thunder I have ever heard. It kept me up most of the night, and about twice it physically shook the house. Then we had the light show of lightning. That was fun.

See what happens....
When the wife leaves you alone and you got time, talent (?), a guitar and a camera?
*Apparently not enough computer skills to make YouTube take your video and not speed it up and cut it off by ten seconds. Oh well, at least you get the gist. I still think it looks cool.

Inspired by TV (of course) heres a little video of me rockin the guitar. I know its not the greatest, I just thought the video itself was pretty cool.
*ok, I don't know why the audio is out of sync, but it is me playing.

Bzzzzzztttt POP

This was a great investment. Its the stinger bug zapper. You just set it and forget it. You plug it in, and a few minutes later you just keep hearing bzzzzzzzzt bzzzzzzzzt. After a few days, not only did it attract the moths, but it attracted the frogs. You can see one in the pic below. They now gather round the zapper and eat the warm carcasses. Its now a self cleaning bug zapper!
Birthday Part 2
And here is the cake. Christine got chocolate cake, with oreo's, whip cream, and extra whip cream on the side. What a lucky lady.
That last picture is what I (Christine) had just after breakfast. I couldn't and didn't want to wait for the cake. It looked so good... and it tasted good too. I think I will have some more now, I can its my birthday. This time he is not going to put ALL 28 candles on the cake. It was a small bon-fire in the middle of the day here on the isle.
