Zoe and Xander

Just a few more pictures of the little ones.
Just about every meal ends up looking like this. We could feed her rainbows and unicorns and it would still end in disaster.










And a few with eyes open (mostly), trying to show them in the light but he shuts them when its too bright. I thought for sure they looked green but it looks like they are blue\grey. We'll see if they change.

Zoe Xander and a Stinger

Zoe likes to walk up to Xander's crib and stare waiting for him to make a noise. As soon as he does she turns to us and says "baby", as if we forgot he was there and she was reminding us..
Zoe enjoying Lasagna, or as she calls its, zanya.
Zoe in her new bunny pajamas, she gets around really well in these as opposed to the full body suit we put her in. The body suit feet are still a little too long so these are perfect.
Zoe has learned to climb and as such I have lost my man chair. Both the arm rests open up for storage, which I have also lost to plastic fruit and lego.

Zoe's friend Alivia came over for a visit and happened to pick up a bee from the ground and got stung in the finger. This is the bee's stinger. I think it looks like a little hummingbird.

Vengeful Spider

There is a story behind this spider. Our backyard was starting to revert back to a nature wonderland, crickets, lizards, centipedes and spiders. We just mowed the back yard and I decided to try to take back ownership of the backyard. I had the bug killer that connects to a hose and sprayed down the backyard. This spider was setting up shop on one of the palm trees in our backyard. He got a good dose of the spray and appeared to be dead, hanging from his web by one leg. A few days later I noticed he was moving and appeared to be recovering or at least clinging to life. A few days later he was gone, I figured a bigger creature carried him away. Then today out of nowhere he has a huge web right outside our patio door, staring into our house. I'm pretty sure he is after me for revenge for the bug spray. A week ago I saw a spider about three times bigger than this one on the far side of the backyard and hit him with a spray from the regular hose, causing him to flee to the neighbors yard. A night later he was on the wall nearest our door, again seeking revenge. Well my shoe won that battle. I think before he expired he passed on his vendetta to this spider.

Kyoto

Ninja Dog! Zoe didn't care for him all that much. Must have been the sword.
Behold the greatest invention known to man, the Potatornado! It was awesome, Zoe loved it too!


Kyoto is one of the more historical cities, they kept much of it the same way it was in the long long ago. Many temples and shrines and these Tori gates.





Behold the Golden Palace. I'm guessing it gets really hot inside as our house is a sweat box in the summer and its tan.


Above might as well be the trail of dads tears, the path of our stroller as we moved around the temples. Far be it from us to suggest not using sand as the flooring for your hundreds of years old temple only because it is not stroller friendly.
We later found that this meant, No free toilet paper, you have to buy your own (like a personal pack of kleenex) at the door for a dollar.
Behold the Mr. Donut, the greatest donut store that ever was. We've lived in Japan for almost two and a half years now and even though they are on just about every corner this is the first time we tried them, and we had them every day of the trip. They are just the greatest donut ever, somewhat chewey like a chocolate bar but made of dough.

The kids above were actually fishing for crabs. Just a stick string and a piece of gum. They had a bucket full of them.
