Last Monday Christine wanted to venture out to a local hot dog emporium called Nacho Usual Dog House (actual name) so she could have a Chili Cheese Dog for dinner for the 3rd day in a row (I don't know why either, but hey I made her move to Guam its the least I can do right?). We got in the truck (which had been for sale for a few weeks now) and headed out into town. Not fifteen minutes away from home we hear the pop, flap flap flap of a flat tire. I pull over and see something stuck in the tire, it looks a little like a piece to a tire iron, not the actual angled tire iron, but an extension piece for the jack. I begin to change the tire and it was actually going really easily. All the lug nuts were off, the truck was jacked up no problem. Then I couldn't get the tire off the truck.
It was stuck. I kept double checking for a missing lug nut or screw I might have missed but nothing. After about 30 minutes of trying to get it off the truck I called a friend to come and help. While waiting for him to arrive a nice local couple stopped and offered us some assistance. Using a baseball bat, the spare tire, pretty much everything we had between us, we still could not get the tire off. He tried to help for about 20 minutes before he left. Then my friend showed up and he couldn't get it to budge either. He actually crawled underneath the truck and kicked from the inside out. He also put a second jack under the truck just in case the first one moved from the kicking of the wheel. That didn't seem to work either. So we were about to give up and call a two truck when he leaned on it and it moved. The wheel then came off and we put the spare on.
Once the wheel is of though we can see what actually happened. The tire iron thing actually went through the wheel and the rim, came out then went back through the wheel and the sidewall. Great so the rim is pretty shot now along with the tire.

Fast forward 12 hours and someone stops by the house cash in hand to buy the truck, of course now that the wheel and tire needs to be replaced he wants to haggle. Well it came down to lowering the price and he fixes it or he pays asking price and I fix it. He opted for the former and the deal was done. We now, for the first time in probably the last 12 years of our lives do not own a car. Its oddly freeing in a way, but we still miss the truck.
And to top it all off, the Chili Cheese Dog was horrible. Christine says: "The chili had beans, barf!".
And we didn't even get a picture of the most expensive, least appetizing chili cheese dog either.
