When new parents are left to their own devices

Come on, its the only thing I can do with her hair so far. Besides with a name like Zoe she is bound to go through a punk rocker stage. Might as well get it over with now.

The only old wives tale that seemed to be remotely true. Lots of heart burn equals lots of hair. She almost has enough on the back for a small pony tale.

It's you and me dad for forever.

Aaahhhhh!!!

I play deer in the headlights with mom.

I love you!

Baby Log, Day 281

Well, rescue did not come as scheduled. I have been stranded here longer than expected. I throw going away parties for myself everyday for the past few weeks. I have said goodbye kidney, goodbye bladder, goodbye wilson. Of course I said goodbye by turning them into Pinatas, but candy never materialized. Hope is near though, a message arrived today that a rescue vessel will be nearby on the 15th. The USS Pitocin will be in the area, unless I find away out on my own before then......

D-Day

Well like the mail, promotions, paychecks and dinner at most restaurants, the baby is late. Its like Christmas and my birthday, just can't come soon enough. Will let you know when anything takes place.

Xmas Decorations

Just a sample of some of our Christmas decorations. Yes Christine put up all the bulbs again.

I also put all of our lights on a remote so we can just click a button and turn everything off when we go to bed.

Shuri Castle

We recently visited Shuri castle, which is a rebuilt castle, unlike the castle ruins we went to earlier. Apparently we chose a very busy day to go and were unable to park nearby so we ended up parking a few blocks away and walking. This sign was in front of a pond we passed on the way to the castle. Apparently deep water is about chest high here in Japan. Or if your not Japanese and taller than average, you can just stand waist high in the water and cry as the picture implies.
We also saw this self parking place on the way to the castle. You pull in and the little metal plate flips up preventing you from leaving. You have to pay at the a machine near the entrance and the plate should flip down, optimal word being should.
In case you couldn't find the giant open door five feet to the right of this sign.

These were the faucets in the bathroom inside the castle. I'm filing this away for ideas for my castle/home.
We didn't see a sign for the unusual route, but were not allowed to go any other way as there were many "helpers" pointing us in the right direction.
Tommy Lee Jones is so enthusiastic about Boss coffee that he is almost going to smile about it. But then he remembered he messed up that one arm man case and got sad.

This is one of the many turtles living in the pond we passed on the way to the castle. He was in this position when we walked to the castle, and was in the same position on the walk back. Christine thought he was a decoy used to lure the other turtles out of the water but he moved his head when we got up close to take his picture.
