Glad All Over

And the secret is.....

A new addition to the globe trotting family. We are extremely excited.

I am trying to convince Christine to name the baby Macgyver (if its a boy), as I feel thats a strong, proud name, sure to make the child a problem solver and all around good person. Christine isn't so convinced. She has at least conceded to allowing us to call the fetus Macgyver. I now have about six months to convince her its the bees knees.

Good thing the baby doesn't have one of these:
I thinks it best the baby doesn't, I'd rather wait till its done growing and all that. According to Christine and the wealth of people who know more about developing babies than I do, we now have eyebrows. At our last appointment we saw the skull and the heart beating too.

For my first fathers day I received the Macgyver Box Set.
So in that six months Christine and I get to watch seven years of Macgyver (and two TV movies). I figure she will either be so convinced of the names awesomeness and suitability, or just be so beaten down and tired of it she will just give up and agree with it.

Thats about all the news we have so far. Everything appears to be going well, and developing according to plan.

We will keep you updated along the way.

Do You Want To Know A Secret

To be announced......

Get Back

We are back in Okinawa!

We had a great trip home and really enjoyed seeing everyone and all the great local food (Carls Jr, In N Out etc) and the shopping. We want to thank everyone for their hospitality.

I didn't take as many pictures on this trip but here are a few.

These were taken in Bob and Jane's back yard:

And this is the view we had for about four hours in Osaka while we waited for our flight home.
In case anyone is wondering, Okinawa to Osaka to San Francisco to LAX (and the same for the return but in reverse) equals a long long long day. We left for LAX at about 3:45am and got home to Okinawa about 26 hours later, at about 11pm Okinawa time. But it was worth it to see everyone.

And as a welcome home present we got our TV back ! And its better than ever. Christine actually has to lean back because its so huge.

Spider Man

Christine and I just took a little walk around the neighborhood and found this! Well actually I saw it out of the corner of my eye as its billion eyes partially reflected a little light.

The 10 Yen piece is about the size of a quarter for comparison (and yes I got it back!)

Back and ready to fly again

Well I am finally back after my month in the states.

Now that I am back I wanted to highlight a few of the cool tech toys that I think bring Christine and I into the 21st century. Well actually I am in the 21st Century, Christine just visits.

First up is the awesome remote:

This thing has a digital touchscreen that allows you to simply push a button and it does the rest for you. For instance, if you want to play a dvd movie, hit play dvd, and it will turn on your TV, turn on the dvd player, tune the TV to the right input channel and hit play on the DVD.

You connect it to your computer and tell it the model number of each device you have and it downloads all the codes and instructions so it can mirror the buttons on the actual remote for that device.

Next is Christines 20 Questions. You think of something and it asks 20 questions and then makes a guess. Funny thing is it is right about 95% of the time. The other five percent its pretty close, ie guesses pen instead of pencil.

And tonight we had Yoshinoya, which was pretty much just like the states. I think it tasted pretty good but Christine was just as unimpressed as she is in the states with it.
