Growing Up... but slowly

We decided to buy a dining room set. So we ended up with a pub style inlaid wood table with a butterfly leaf, 8 chairs, and a lazy susan. It's no lazy susan like my parents lazy susan but it will do perfectly. Oh yeah a sofa table tagged along also in that purchase. I am slowly and very slowly putting the chairs together. 2 a week seems like a great speed to me, that's why there is one chair in the picture.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

Christine actually updated the blog!!!! But that doesn't mean my witty banter will go away.

Here are a few snaps of my ongoing trip to Maryland, where it is freezing, but not snowing.
Here are two of the hotel I am staying in. I am playing with a new lens, an ultra wide angle so we can fit more awesomeness into each photo.

This is a cherry blossom tree. I know, I fly all the way to MD from Japan and take a picture of a cherry blossom tree. There are cherry blossom "leavins" all over the place here, must be horrible to be a street sweeper.
This is my rental car. I reserve a sporty dodge charger and get the van. Its cool, because at least its the sporty orange color that you can see ten miles away in the dark while wearing a blindfold.
This is a hawk we saw near a friends house. I tried to get close to take better pictures but it flew away. Hawks are sneaky like that.

Just some advice for anyone planning on flying literally half way across the world; time has lost all meaning to me. I sleep during the day, wake up at 2am wide awake and go back to bed at five in the afternoon. Most days I am not even sure what day it is. I am sure that by the time I get used to the time change I will be on the plane back, only to spend just enough time in Japan to get back to the time there and have to fly back again.
