Christmas 2010

This is Zoe's 3rd Christmas and Xanders first. Zoe was ready and willing to open all her presents and Xanders too. We had them sitting out for about a month almost and she never once even noticed them or tried to open them. Then on Xmas eve our neighbor gave her a present and she put two and two together, wrapped things need to be opened as they are obviously special things for Zoe.
Great Grandma was so impressed by Zoe's acrobatics on the batmobile she got her this helmet, which she immediately put on and wore for a good while.

Xander in his Christmas suit, looking very dapper.

Zoe helping make Christmas pastries.
Zoe and Xander ready for bed. Zoe demanded that Xander lay down next to her and go to sleep. She got half her wish.
Zoe and mom on the rocket ships at one of our local Christmas festivals.
Above, Christmas day 2010, below Christmas day 2009. She's come a long way in just a year. And yes that is the exact same dress.

Zoe's Birthday

Just a few quick ones from Zoe's two day birthday sugar eggstravaganza. As a side note we still can't figure out how we have a two year old daughter (let alone two kids).

Zoe with her 17 scoop, two ice cream sandwich birthday "cake". She didn't get to eat it all, we split it up amongst everyone. The ice cream shop said the flavors were set, thats why we had pistachio and sweet potato and who knows what else in there. Zoe got chocolate chip vanilla I believe and she was really pleased with that.

Of course that didn't stop her from trying the leftovers either. oh and the bottom of the plate/bowl was lined with whipped cream and corn flakes.
Zoe in her favorite shirt, she runs around saying "beatles shirt" all the time now. This was a birthday cake our neighbor gave us for Zoe. She really enjoyed it too, and actually got messier eating this than all that ice cream.
Xanders first real food, rice cereal. It was funny, he would reach for the spoon, long for that bite, then as soon as he took it, get a whole body shiver and act like it was putrid. Then reach for it and repeat the entire process all over again.

Oh and here are his three teeth, this is a few days old and we have already discovered tooth #4 poking out now.

Zoe + Pool + Winter + Nope = Crying & A Lot

Winters here in Okinawa are cool. Nowhere near as hot as Guam but still very decent. This afternoon Zoe really wanted to play in the pool. Really really really wanted to play in the pool. But it was one of those random fall days where it was slightly to cold.

She was not happy I said no.
Really not happy. She had vivid memories of a few days before swimming in the pool.
If I can't swim with water then I'll just pretend without! Humph!!
It's always fun until someone gets hurt....
She reopened her skinned knees. It was painful to watch.
Checking out what she calls ouwies.
Yup, they still hurt.
But they don;t hurt enough to not put rocks down the drain.
Checking them out again...
More rocks down the drain...
Yup, even on the slide they still hurt.
Even down the slide they hurt.
She had had enough. Time to be comforted by mom.
Fine...no more pictures.

Batmobile Stunts!!!

These pictures are the mild version of Zoe's Batmobile stunts. Typically, she is doing things straight out of a Evil Kenevil show or at the X Games competition.
Her preferred stunts are:
Standing on the seat and riding
Laying down with her feet on the front fenders
Laying down with her feet on the handle bars
and
Sitting down, leaning forward with her feet on the rear fenders.

Coyness before the stunt "Who me?"

If I must get on and ride.....

Starting off with an easy stunt.

Going up the neighbor's driveway.

I'm going for it!

Oh that was a thud.

Action shot!

That was loads of fun!!!!!!

See dad, I'm alright.

But tomorrow is another day....

Our Fair Little Lady

Looking gorgeous for a morning stroll.
Posing for the photograph.
I know this is supposed to work some how.
My feet go here...
Maybe not...
I'm a lady even on a bike.

The wind in my hair.
