Admirals Cup Swim Meet

Christine participated in three events, 50 yard Butterfly, 50 yard Freestyle, and 200 yard IM, and took first place in all three events! She participated as her own team, one swimmer one team. Overall she took fourth and the top three teams had at least ten people each!

Here is the winner in the water.

3 Hour Tour

We are now licensed boat operators in Guam. We took a written test and a boat out to sea and we are now licensed to rent boats and go boating. We can get almost all the way around the island and even scuba from our boat. Look forward to pictures from the high sea's.

The Moon

This is an extreme close up of the moon. I caved and gave Christine her anniversary present early, its a telescope. We also got a little adapter that allows us to connect our camera to the telescope to take pictures like these. Neat huh?

For comparison this is a picture of the moon I took when I first got the camera (a few weeks ago) using just the camera and a zoom lens. I was shocked just to get this much detail, but then after the ones above I am a little less shocked, more like after shocked.

Hidden Snorkeling Spot

Today we hiked, yes HIKED down a huge hill to this little cove near our house. The hike starts with a huge rope tied to a tree that you have to use to climb down the hill, trust us if you don't use the rope you just roll down the hill. Then there are a few steps, then a few more ropes. After you hike down the hill you have to trek through the jungle. Aside from some trash (cans) you would think no one had been there in 100 years. We had to clear a path to get through the jungle and there were spiders, lizards and a huge monitor lizard (like a kimodo dragon) on the path with us. Not to mention the brush that pretty much cut up my legs. But when you clear the jungle you end up at this beautiful little lagoon or cove.

Island Drive

Today we just kind of drove around the island and I took a ton of pictures, here are a few.
And yes we included a few of us too!

And some of these might look a little trippy but thats because I processed them that way.

This is a scenic one that I processed, maybe a bit too much but I do like the colors.
This is the low tide at sunset, normally all those rocks you see are under a foot of water.
This is a waterfall we went to today but we were not allowed to go under it.
Christine saw this rainbow while we were sitting in the drive through of McDonalds (we were thirsty after being out in the forest all day).

This is from the waterfall park we went to today, kind of like a carnival exploded on this place and not in a good way, later you will see Christine at the entrance to the haunted house, ya a merry go round, waterfalls, pigs, chickens, ducks, a hidden cave and a haunted house.

This would be the MOST dangerous thing I saw today. It was posted inside the cable car we took to the waterfalls, yup inspiring confidence in me all the way.

Well there you have some of our day, we were out and about for about seven hours but this is a general idea of some of the things we saw. We went all over the south eastern end of the island and it was like a whole new world. We forgot we were on Guam a few times, it was so much like Hawaii. But then we got out of the truck and nearly burst into flames, thats when we remembered we were on Guam.
