A new view.

So, the Internet in the hotel has been spotty at best the last three days. I wake up today (Saturday my time Friday yours) and yep still no internet. So, being the geek I am I set about fixing it, they have routers on every even floor number (of course Im on an odd # floor) so I go out to the two floors above and below me and reset the routers, still no joy. So I go downstairs and tell the front desk I need to move rooms to an even numbered floor because I need the internet for business (this is business) and that the Internet does not work on my floor. So after a half hour of waiting they move me to another floor. Well actually I moved me to another floor, five trips two floors up to put all my stuff in my new room, I set up the computer and ...... NADA. So I go back to the front desk and yep, the internet is down in the entire hotel now. It came back three hours later.

But I tell you that longwinded story to say this, I am now on the other side of the hotel, which means more pictures, but of different things. Such as what you ask? Well you have seen a palm tree from the right, but have you seen it from the left?

And as you can see, much more civilization on the other side.

Recent thoughts

Recently it has rained quite a bit. Its odd, it will rain like there's no tomorrow, my windshield wipers can't move fast enough to keep up with the rain. Then you move fifteen feet and its sunny and no rain. You can actually watch it rain twenty yards away from you but not where you are.

And you would think it the history of Guam they would figure out a decent irrigation system. Its not terrible, but there are parts of the road where the water reaches the bottom of the doors on your car. Its pretty fun to drive through, and see two huge waves part from your car or the car in front of you.



You know how in California many things are printed in English and Spanish? Well here its all English and Japanese. Some places its Japanese and if your lucky there will be a one or two word explanation in English. It looks like this:

Mystery Solved, Dinner?

Ok, now that I solved the mysterious ICE mystery, look what I had for dinner last night. I know Im stretching for topics here, but really how many more pictures of the water can you take? Pretty neat place in my hotel. You go to a buffet bar and select all the raw meat and vegetables and other things you want. You then take that to your table and cook it yourself. Doesn't make it any cheaper though. Pretty good stuff.

Rainbows

Yup, they came back. They arent as easy to photograph as you would think but heres some to tide you over till the next time it rains, which will probably be about an hour.

Yes there is civilization here too

So you don't start to think Guam is all palm trees and sand, here are some of the creature comforts from home that we also have here.








I have also counted six 7-11's, four McDonalds, three Taco Bells, four Subways, two Burger Kings, one Wendy's, one Long John Silver's and two Pizza Hut's.

And now for the piece de resistance, (once again, thats french for huge setup, minor dissapointment).



Yes my friends, there it is in all its glory, the Worlds Larget K-Mart. Also, the worlds most expensive K-Mart. Not only is everything at least 20% more expensive, but its all also under lock and key. If you want to buy a DVD or blank VHS tape you have to ask an employee to unlock the case and get it for you. Not too trusting considering you can't get far, unless you have a boat that is.....

More Scenery

These are some of the views from the downtown area, some from a hill others from some of the local hotels downtown. These views can be yours all for the small price of an airline ticket and 12 to 14 hours on a plane. Tempting huh?

Well it finally rained today. Its odd, it rains when the sun is shining and its still hot, but yet its absolutely pouring. Then it just stops and the most vivid brightest HUGE rainbows you've ever seen appear. Ill try to get a pic of that later.

These are all from my hotel balcony. Yup, its a rough life I lead here in Guam. Its where America's day starts ya know.

Oh ya the pictures arent blurry, its the fact that you take anything glass or plastic outside it immediately fogs up due to the awesomeness of Guams climate.

Hello from Guam. Well Im here and it only took two planes and 14 hours to do it.

For those contemplating the visit the flights werent that bad. You get your own tv screen the choice of three or four movies and some tv shows (CSI and others were on) and meals and stuff. Not too shabby.

Ok Im sure your all waiting on the pics well here they are. I took these myself, some you can tell, some look too good, but trust me they are all me.

Almost Take off time
