Around Town (And at Home)

Here are some random pictures from our travels around town.

A&W Rootbeer restaurants are everywhere here. It is the typical American food you know.

I thought this was a clever name for a bar, if you can make it out it says Septem Bar.Typical streets look like the above. The cars aren't that different but there are a ton of little Japanese cars that are most likely powered by hamsters in a wheel or lawnmower engines. You actually pay less for vehicle registration here based on the size of your engine. Our cars are the 2nd cheapest, so we won't be entering any Japan 500 races any time soon.
Ya thats per liter not gallon and if you do the math its a lot more than what we pay per gallon.
Here is one of only about 3 McDonald's I have seen so far. A&W outnumber them 10 to 1.

This is the Garlic House restaurant. The picture above and below are the same picture, just processed a different way. Everything here is not only cooked in garlic, but basted, marinated, soaked, encompassed, and drowned.
Everything is a la carte, you can sort of make out the menu below. You don't need to be able to read it, just to see that each line is a separate item. This was our garlic fries and pasta, not shown is a garlic pizza and garlic bread. It was awesome and extremly garlicky.

The Pachinko places are on nearly every corner here. Not 100% sure what Pachinko is but I like to think it involves Bob Barker and dropping hockey pucks down a peg board.

After our Garlic dinner we went to the Blue Seal ice cream Shoppe. They are about as common here as 31 flavors are in the states. Christine really likes the ice cream there. I just think it looks trippy.
Here is our Teryaki boat. It was huge, and loaded with Tery chicken, beef and rice. This is what I enjoyed, Christine had about 200 rolls, and enjoyed each and everyone of them.
This is my car. Its like an English taxi cab inside. It looks like a normal car from the outside but inside it is similar to a van. It has three rows of seats. The center row folds down and becomes a table, with cupholders. The front passenger seat spins around and faces the back. Its for picnics.

I took the center row out and it is currently resting in the garage. This leaves ample room for Bubba sized people in the backseat. Of course, being the little japanese car with the little japanese engine you need to lean forward and kill the AC when going up hills. But it eventually gets there.

Today (the 22nd) Christine got her toes done. She said they use actual paint, which makes me question the size of the brushes. I also wonder if they wear those white painting suits, or if they are just really careful. If you look closely you can see the little beads/crystals/rocks they affixed to her toe nails.
And finally, brinner. Tonight Christine wanted breakfast for dinner. So we had pancakes, french toast (france toast) and kielbasa. It was pretty good.
